Texas Defeats San Jose State 38-7 - Recap

Parker Livingstone caught 4 passes for 128 yards against the San Jose State defense as Texas handed the Spartans a 38-7 loss on Saturday at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Texas did not, however, defeat the Spartans against the spread, which closed at -36.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 52.0.

CJ Baxter rushed for 64 yards, while Jerrick Gibson added 38 yards in the win. Parker Livingstone and Jack Endries added 128 and 52 receiving yards respectively.

Jabari Bates rushed for 44 yards for San Jose State, while Floyd Chalk IV added 39 yards. Tama Amisone threw for 0 yards for the Spartans, while receivers Kyri Shoels and Danny Scudero had 73 and 66 yards respectively.

San Jose State lost the offensive yardage battle to Texas 472-273 yards in Saturday's game. Texas had more first downs as that total ended up 18-16.

San Jose State lost the time of possession battle 30:15-29:45, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Texas takes its act home to face UTEP looking for another win. For San Jose State, they head home to face Idaho.
