Trojans Fall 28-7 Against Memphis - Game Recap
Sutton Smith ran for 113 yards as Memphis handled Troy by a score of 28-7 on Saturday at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Memphis was the ATS victor, as they covered the -4.0-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 51.0 were rewarded at the payout window.
Sutton Smith rushed for 113 yards, while Brendon Lewis added 41 yards in the win. Cortez Braham Jr. and Jamari Hawkins added 69 and 55 receiving yards respectively.
Jordan Lovett rushed for 50 yards for Troy, while Tae Meadows added 7 yards. Tucker Kilcrease threw for 65 yards for the Trojans, while receivers Roman Mothershed and Jackson Worley had 58 and 13 yards respectively.
Troy lost the offensive yardage battle to Memphis 430-112 yards in Saturday's game. Memphis had more first downs as that total ended up 22-12.
The time of possession battle favored Memphis as their offense was on the field for 36:55, longer than the 23:05 of their opponents.
Memphis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Arkansas. Troy will aim to get back on the winning track at Buffalo.
