Washington State Falls 59-10 to Mean Green - Recap
The battle between the Mean Green and Cougars didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Washington State was handed a 59-10 defeat on Saturday at DATCU Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Mean Green were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -7.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 58.0.
Makenzie McGill II rushed for 67 yards, while Caleb Hawkins added 50 yards in the win. Miles Coleman and Landon Sides added 44 and 37 receiving yards respectively.
Kirby Vorhees rushed for 33 yards for Washington State, while Leo Pulalasi added 17 yards. Zevi Eckhaus threw for 72 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Carter Pabst and Tony Freeman had 65 and 47 yards respectively.
Washington State was outgained by North Texas 410-275 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-17 by the Mean Green.
Washington State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:26-28:34 split in that important category.
Next game, North Texas takes its act on the road to face Army looking for another win. For Washington State, they head home to face Washington.
