Charlotte Falls 28-17 to Owls - Recap
Rice earned a 28-17 victory over Charlotte on Thursday in Week 4 action at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
Rice was the ATS victor, as they covered the -1.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 42.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Quinton Jackson rushed for 80 yards, while Daelen Alexander added 73 yards in the win. Drayden Dickmann and Tyson Thompson added 39 and 37 receiving yards respectively.
Rod Gainey Jr. rushed for 51 yards for Charlotte, while Cameren Smith added 28 yards. Grayson Loftis threw for 186 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Javen Nicholas and Sean Brown had 93 and 47 yards respectively.
Charlotte lost the offensive yardage battle to Rice 353-334 yards in Thursday's game. Charlotte had more first downs as that total ended up 22-17.
Rice led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:12-29:48 split in that important category.
Next game, Rice takes its act on the road to face Navy looking for another win. For Charlotte, they head on the road to face USF.
