Midshipmen Down Rice 21-13 - Match Report
Blake Horvath ran for 110 yards as Navy handled Rice by a score of 21-13 on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The Midshipmen earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -14.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 46.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Blake Horvath rushed for 110 yards, while Alex Tecza added 104 yards in the win. Alex Tecza and Eli Heidenreich added 53 and 44 receiving yards respectively.
Quinton Jackson rushed for 60 yards for Rice, while Chase Jenkins added 33 yards. Chase Jenkins threw for 114 yards for the Owls, while receivers Drayden Dickmann and Braylen Walker had 45 and 33 yards respectively.
Rice lost the offensive yardage battle to Navy 455-234 yards in Saturday's game. Navy had more first downs as that total ended up 19-13.
The time of possession battle favored Navy as their offense was on the field for 33:29, longer than the 26:31 of their opponents.
Next game, Navy takes its act home to face Air Force looking for another win. For Rice, they head home to face Florida Atlantic.
