Purdue Falls 43-27 to Fighting Illini - Recap

Luke Altmyer's 390-yard performance through the air was the key in Illinois's 43-27 win over Purdue on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The Fighting Illini were a -7.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 55.0.

Luke Altmyer completed 19 of 22 pass attempts for 390 yards for the Fighting Illini in the win.

Antonio Harris rushed for 69 yards for Purdue, while Devin Mockobee added 58 yards. Ryan Browne threw for 302 yards for the Boilermakers, while receivers Michael Jackson III and Corey Smith had 94 and 83 yards respectively.

Purdue lost the offensive yardage battle to Illinois 507-453 yards in Saturday's game. Purdue had more first downs as that total ended up 25-22.

The time of possession battle favored Illinois as their offense was on the field for 34:32, longer than the 25:28 of their opponents.

Next game, Illinois takes its act home to face Ohio State looking for another win. For Purdue, they head on the road to face Minnesota.
