West Virginia Mountaineers vs BYU Cougars Wrap - BYU Wins 38-24
Bear Bachmeier's 351-yard performance through the air was the key in BYU's 38-24 win over West Virginia on Friday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
The Cougars earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -20.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 46.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Bear Bachmeier completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 351 yards for the Cougars in the win.
Khalil Wilkins rushed for 89 yards for West Virginia, while Diore Hubbard added 32 yards. Scotty Fox Jr. threw for 54 yards for the Mountaineers, while receivers Jeff Weimer and Cam Vaughn had 43 and 43 yards respectively.
BYU outgained West Virginia 516-291 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-18 by the Cougars.
BYU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:10-27:50 split in that important category.
BYU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Arizona. West Virginia will aim to get back on the winning track at UCF.
