Green Wave vs Black Knights Final: 24-17 - Recap
The Green Wave grabbed a Week 8 victory over the Black Knights on Saturday, winning 24-17 at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium.
The Green Wave earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -10.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 44.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Jake Retzlaff rushed for 62 yards, while Javin Gordon added 40 yards in the win. Shazz Preston and Anthony Brown-Stephens added 86 and 52 receiving yards respectively.
Cale Hellums rushed for 155 yards for Army, while Carson Smith added 27 yards. Cale Hellums threw for 125 yards for the Black Knights, while receivers Brady Anderson and Noah Short had 97 and 11 yards respectively.
Army was outgained by Tulane 402-358 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-21 by the Green Wave.
The time of possession battle favored Army as their offense was on the field for 38:58, longer than the 21:02 of their opponents.
Tulane looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against UTSA. Army will aim to get back on the winning track at Air Force.
