UTSA Falls 55-17 to Mean Green - Recap
Caleb Hawkins scampered through the UTSA defense for 133 yards as North Texas handed the Roadrunners a 55-17 defeat on Saturday at DATCU Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Mean Green were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -4.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 64.0.
Caleb Hawkins rushed for 133 yards, while Kiefer Sibley added 63 yards in the win. Wyatt Young and Caleb Hawkins added 102 and 90 receiving yards respectively.
Robert Henry Jr. rushed for 138 yards for UTSA, while Will Henderson III added 65 yards. Owen McCown threw for 84 yards for the Roadrunners, while receivers AJ Wilson and Devin McCuin had 35 and 23 yards respectively.
UTSA lost the offensive yardage battle to North Texas 584-329 yards in Saturday's game. North Texas had more first downs as that total ended up 34-14.
UTSA lost the time of possession battle 33:39-26:21, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, North Texas takes its act on the road to face Charlotte looking for another win. For UTSA, they head home to face Tulane.
