West Virginia Falls 23-17 to Horned Frogs - Recap
TCU won 23-17 on Saturday against West Virginia behind a 124-yard receiving performance from Eric McAlister at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.
The Horned Frogs won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -16.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Trent Battle rushed for 89 yards, while Kevorian Barnes added 27 yards in the win. Eric McAlister and Major Everhart added 124 and 45 receiving yards respectively.
Diore Hubbard rushed for 32 yards for West Virginia, while Clay Ash added 15 yards. Scotty Fox Jr. threw for 301 yards for the Mountaineers, while receivers Cam Vaughn and Jeff Weimer had 85 and 57 yards respectively.
The time of possession battle favored TCU as their offense was on the field for 34:03, longer than the 25:57 of their opponents.
TCU heads into a 11 battle against Iowa State. West Virginia, meanwhile, will have their next action against Houston.
