Pirates vs Owls Final: 45-14 - Recap
The battle between the Pirates and Owls didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Temple was handed a 45-14 defeat on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
East Carolina was the ATS victor, as they covered the -5.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 58.0 were rewarded at the payout window.
London Montgomery rushed for 84 yards, while TJ Engleman Jr. added 77 yards in the win. Yannick Smith and Anthony Smith added 100 and 58 receiving yards respectively.
Keveun Mason rushed for 48 yards for Temple, while Jay Ducker added 45 yards. Evan Simon threw for 80 yards for the Owls, while receivers Colin Chase and JoJo Bermudez had 57 and 34 yards respectively.
East Carolina outgained Temple 614-233 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-11 by the Pirates.
East Carolina led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:27-28:33 split in that important category.
Next game, East Carolina takes its act home to face Charlotte looking for another win. For Temple, they head on the road to face Army.
