UTSA Defeats Charlotte 28-7 - Recap

Owen McCown led the way with 306 passing yards on Saturday as the Roadrunners picked up a 28-7 victory over the 49ers at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

UTSA won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -17.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 57.5.

Owen McCown completed 24 of 37 pass attempts for 306 yards for the Roadrunners in the win.

Cameren Smith rushed for 37 yards for Charlotte, while Jariel Cobb added 26 yards. Zach Wilcke threw for 46 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Javen Nicholas and Sean Brown had 45 and 43 yards respectively.

Charlotte was outgained by UTSA 521-197 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 29-13 by the Roadrunners.

Charlotte lost the time of possession battle 31:14-28:46, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, UTSA takes its act home to face East Carolina looking for another win. For Charlotte, they head on the road to face Georgia.
