Chargers Down Detroit 34-7 - Match Report
The battle between the Chargers and Lions didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Detroit was handed a 34-7 defeat on Thursday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Chargers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as an underdog of +1.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 33.5.
Kimani Vidal rushed for 37 yards, while Nyheim Miller-Hines added 34 yards in the win. KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Tucker Fisk added 43 and 19 receiving yards respectively.
Craig Reynolds rushed for 38 yards for Detroit, while Jabari Small added 35 yards. Hendon Hooker threw for 18 yards for the Lions, while receivers Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett had 46 and 31 yards respectively.
Detroit lost the offensive yardage battle to Los Angeles 261-197 yards in Thursday's game. Los Angeles had more first downs as that total ended up 16-12.
Detroit lost the time of possession battle 32:13-27:47, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Los Angeles heads into a Pre-Season Week 1 battle against the Saints. Detroit, meanwhile, will have their next action against Atlanta.
