Arizona Defeats Carolina 27-22 - Recap
The Panthers came up short against the Cardinals in Week 2 action on Sunday, falling 27-22 at State Farm Stadium.
Arizona did not, however, defeat the Panthers against the spread, which closed at -7.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 45.5.
James Conner rushed for 34 yards, while Kyler Murray added 32 yards in the win. Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins added 78 and 45 receiving yards respectively.
Chuba Hubbard rushed for 38 yards for Carolina, while Rico Dowdle added 9 yards. Bryce Young threw for 328 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Ja'Tavion Sanders had 100 and 54 yards respectively.
Arizona was outgained by Carolina 352-293 yards in Sunday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-16 by the Panthers.
Arizona lost the time of possession battle 33:15-26:45, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Arizona looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the 49ers. The Panthers will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Atlanta.
