Blue Jackets vs Penguins Final: 5-4 - Recap

It came down to a shootout and Elvis Merzlikins foiled the opposition in a 5-4 victory for Columbus over Pittsburgh Saturday.

Columbus won as a +102 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 6.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Dmitri Voronkov(2), Charlie Coyle, and Yegor Chinakhov each scored for the Blue Jackets in the victory. Coyle opened the scoring for Columbus.

Elvis Merzlikins turned in a 24-save effort for the Blue Jackets.

Kris Letang, Bryan Rust, Anthony Mantha, and Ryan Shea scored for the Penguins, finding the net behind Elvis Merzlikins.

Arturs Silovs stopped 36 of 40 shots for the Penguins, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Columbus went 0-for-2, while the Penguins were 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

Columbus outshot Pittsburgh 40-28 in the game.

Columbus looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Sabres. The Penguins will aim to get back on the winning track vs. St. Louis.
