Las Vegas - Didn't expect a 5-1 bulge for Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup opener, but my wallet was thrilled. Going back to the bank one more time because of the edge in goal. The Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy has been a rock between the pipes in the playoffs, and a total BEAST against Montreal. The 'Big Cat' came into this matchup with a RIDONKULOUS 11-1-2 record against the Canadiens, with a 1.98 goals against average. So, Captain Obvious here, Vasilevskiy knows his way around the Habs.

Las Vegas - Never seen a player step on a referee and sprain an ankle. Probably happened somewhere over the last 75 years, but my eyes have never caught it. Kinda sad for Ice Trae Young. He was having an ENORMOUS game, and he cashed a YUGE ticket for me when we took Over 2.5 made threes. He had SIX. Then at the end of the 3rd quarter, the ref, the ankle, then basically NOTHING! Las Vegas - On the ice tonight, the defending Stanley Cup champs will start the defense of their Stanley Cup with a win over Montreal in the opener. Think that the Lightning are a tick better on offense, the Habs might be a tick better on defense, and the battle of goalies, Carey Price vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy, is basically a toss-up. Special teams is lopsided, with Tampa clicking on 37.7% of its power plays, while Montreal kills 93.5%.
