Las Vegas - Jerry Rice MAYBE. Who else? Never thought we would see a line move three full points (-3.5 to -6.5) on an injury to a wide receiver, but Davante Adams is NO ordinary WR. The Aaron Rodgers/Adams combo can sit on the same page as some of the best in NFL history. We're talking combos like Peyton Manning/Marvin Harrison, Tom Brady/Rob Gronkowski and Steve Young/Jerry Rice. Without Adams and Allen Lazard, Mr. Rodgers is gonna be missing almost half his possible targets. He has 151 completions so far with Adams (52) and Lazard (15) combining for 67 grabs. More Davante? Sure. He has gobbled up 744 air yards and NO other Packer has more than 200. If you combined the other FIVE options, Robert Tonyan (15), Randall Cobb (14), A.J. Dillon (10), Mercedes Lewis (9) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (6), with a total of 54, they BARELY have more than Davante. So, it looks like the offense is could be problematic. It also looks like the Arizona defense will be more than capable. The Cardinals have allowed an average of 16.2 points per game, which is the BEST mark in the NFC. That and Kyler Murray is why they own a gorgeous 7-0 record. This is Murray's third season, and he keeps improving. In 2019, he was completing 64.4% of his passes. In 2020, he inched up to 67.2% and this season, through seven games, he is all the way up to 73.5%. And with the addition of TE Zach Ertz, Kyler has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, including DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green. Hopkins had a slight hamstring issue and might be limited. Both teams are 6-1 against the spread, and we should tell you that Green Bay went SIX & OH last season WITHOUT Davante. Very, very light lean to the Cheeseheads at +6.5 and hopefully, you can buy the hook up to +7. Of course, if Adams has two negative tests and suits up, we would make the Green Bay wager MUCH thicker!
