Las Vegas - Hate to keep picking on the Rockies, but the way Lucas Giolito is twirling, we have no choice. Giolito struggled in 2023, bouncing around to three different teams (White Sox, Angels, Indians). His overall record was 8-15 with a 4.88 ERA. We know why he went from a winning pitcher in the prior six seasons to a losing record. After signing a two year deal with the Red Sox in 2024, he sustained an injury to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow in Spring Training and underwent an internal bracing procedure that forced him to miss the entire season. He didn't step back on the mound this season until the end of April and his trajectory arrow is straight up. After losing his second start, Giolito has won five straight and has allowed only 3 earned runs over the last 32 innings for a ghostly 0.84 ERA. Boston is red hot, winning seven of the last eight and despite my INTENSE hatred for the Red Sox, gotta create a slip for a deposit into the Bank of Benj.
