Las Vegas - Numbers don't lie. Look at the arc of future Hall of Fame Justin Verlander. Everyone thought that Verlander was washed up, including this guy, after opening the season with an UGLY UGLY 0-8 record and an ERA that was sitting above 5.00. YIKES! So what happened next? Justin's last three starts have been gorgeous, with 15 innings of work and only one earned run which works out to a 0.60 ERA. More numbers. Washington's MacKenzie Gore made his first All-Star game back in July, but since that honor, he has been, well, UGLY UGLY. In four starts since the All-Star game, Gore has been, can we say gored, for 29 hits and 23 earned runs in just 16 innings of work. That, ladies and gentlemen, is an ATROCIOUS 12.94 ERA. So, obviously, the Bank of Benj is wide open in San Francisco. Would also take a peek at Bryan Woo and the Mariners over the Rays if you don't mind laying some heavy wood.
