Las Vegas -
Looks like L.A. manager Dave Roberts has made his choice and will give the ball to Yoshinobu Yamamoto to start the game. Yamamoto started game one and was beat up for 5 hits and 5 earned runs in just 3 innings. We still might see Roberts change his mind and opt for another bullpen game because that didn't work out too bad in the 8-0 W in game four. There are no such problems for San Diego. The Padres will send out Yu Darvish on normal rest (four days) and if his last start against the Dodgers was any indication (7 innings, 3 hits, 1 earned run), the visitors will have a legit shot at booking a ticket into the National League Championship Series against the Mets.In his last six postseason starts, Darvish has posted a 3-2 record with a 2.56 ERA. And against the Dodgers it’s even better. He has a 2.35 ERA in 17 career starts against L.A. and has won both playoff games against them. Always nervous about fighting the home team in an elimination game, but will sprinkle a few pennies on the visitors.
