Las Vegas - EVERYONE is opening their wallet to bet AGAINST Patrick Corbin and the Nationals. They're playing the Braves, Max Fried is throwing for Atlanta, and the price is YUGE. The Braves opened around -$215 and it has been bet all the way up to -$250 at some sportsbooks (Caesars, Mirage and William Hill). Totally understand the FLOOD of ATL money because Corbin was pathetic last season. His first nine starts yielded seven losses and two no decisions, which were also losses for Washington. His overall record was 6-19. So, OBVIOUSLY, I'm all over the Braves right. NAH! Not gonna lay $250 to win back $100 with the Braves on the road.

However, will open the wallet for a little taste of the Marlins over the Mets. Speaking of the wallet, New York dishes out almost $90 million to Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander for one year. Miami's TOTAL payout, for the ENTIRE TEAM, is $103 million. Okay, the Mets have more talent and Scherzer is a first ballot Hall of Famer, but the Marlins Sandy Alcantara AIN'T too bad. Actually, Alcantara won the Cy Young award last season and was a UNANIMOUS choice. He was 14-9 with a very thin 2.32 ERA and had 207 Ks in 228 innings. Love Mad Max, but as most who follow know, the Mets lost their ALL-STAR closer, Edwin Diaz (1.31 ERA with 32 saves), for the season. Gimme the Fish, but keep it light.
