Las Vegas - Every matchup on the NBA board tonight has at least one star player missing or injured. In the Raptors/76ers game, Fred VanVleet is doubtful and Joel Embiid is dealing with a torn ligament in his right thumb. In the Suns/Pelicans matchup, Phoenix G Devin Booker is out. And in the Jazz/Mavericks tilt, Utah G Donovan Mitchell is now listed as probable, but he AIN'T close to 100%. TOO many what ifs, so we pass on all three.

Las Vegas - It's not the strongest division in baseball, but still, the Twins are sitting on top of the American League Central with an 8-8 record (not including last night). And one of the reasons is Joe Ryan. Last season, Ryan had just five starts, won twice, lost once, with two no decisions and a 4.05 ERA. So, looking at his work in the first month, gotta say, we're a bit surprised. He has a 2-1 record, but his ERA is sitting in the gorgeous territory at 1.69.

Las Vegas - Maximus doesn't thrill me, but that's the nickname Max Fried hears from his teammates. I would prefer French Fried, or maybe even, Max Fried Green Tomatoes. Does not matter what nickname Max is using, the kid can pitch. Yea, he's 28, but everyone that's currently playing is a KID to me. Fried took a minute to get going, coming up empty in his first two starts, but I'll just chalk that up to a hangover from the World Series win. Hangover OVER!

Las Vegas - Gonna ride down to Texas and drop some love on the Mavericks over the Jazz. Luka is BACK! REALLY back! Doncic dropped 30 points, snagged 10 boards and had 4 assists in the last game. Typical Luka. After losing the first game of the series to Utah, 99-93, WITHOUT Doncic, Dallas has really looked sharp. They won game two 110-104, game three 126-118 and were squeezed out by one point in game four, 100-99.
