Las Vegas - Like Yankee Stadium, the old Montreal Forum, the TEMPLE of hockey, was and is considered hallowed ground in Canada. My first major assignment was covering the 1979 Stanley Cup when the Canadiens hosted the New York Rangers. Just walking into Le Forum de Montreal was breathtaking. You think it made a difference?

Las Vegas - On the ice tonight, the defending Stanley Cup champs will start the defense of their Stanley Cup with a win over Montreal in the opener. Think that the Lightning are a tick better on offense, the Habs might be a tick better on defense, and the battle of goalies, Carey Price vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy, is basically a toss-up. Special teams is lopsided, with Tampa clicking on 37.7% of its power plays, while Montreal kills 93.5%.
