Las Vegas - Luis Severino does NOT like to pitch at the Sutter Health Park, the A's temporary home till they come to see me in Vegas. How do we know this? He said so. "This just is not a big league park." He also talks about the lack of a connected clubhouse and the unusual field dimensions as challenges. Severino has shown a significant disparity in his performance between home and away games, and if you take a look at the numbers, they are startling. Severino has been rocked in Sacramento, allowing 62 hits and 41 earned runs over 52 innings for a PHAT 7.10 ERA. On the road, Seve has allowed 27 hits and 4 earned runs over 39 innings for a skinny little 0.92 ERA. Those splits are diabolical. Then he has to face Houston's Framber Valdez who has won six straight games and allowed only 11 earned over the last 49 innings for a 2.02 ERA. Framber has also put 59 Ks on the board over those 49 innings, so you can see why the Astros are the key to growing my bank account.
